Watch: Central Massachusetts Police Officer Saves Choking Infant's Life

The parents of a choking two-month-old didn't know that when they rushed the baby inside the Framingham Police Department earlier this week that they had found the perfect person to save their child's life.

Officer Ryan Porter was in the lobby when baby Ravi's parents burst through the front doors of the police department just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, the police department said. Ravi was choking, and a rescue couldn't have come a moment later.

As Porter took the baby from its frantic mother, Ravi stopped breathing. The officer, who teaches CPR at the department, delivered a few quick "back blows," and Ravi could breathe free again, police said.

A security camera captured the entire ordeal, and the Framingham Police Department posted it on social media

Ravi's parents brought the infant back to the police department later in the week to thank officer Porter.

"He was delighted to see that baby Ravi is doing well (and that Mom and Dad are too!). Big brother was also there to share in the happiness," Framingham police said in a Facebook post
